Samsung is rumoured to launch a revolutionary smartphone that can fold up three times. The device's upcoming release was confirmed by the Head of Consumer Electronics TM Roh at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event.
Roh stated: "I expect we will be able to launch the tri-fold phone within this year. We are now focusing on perfecting the product and its usability, but we have not decided on its name. As the product nears completion, we are planning to make a final decision soon.”
Samsung tri-fold specifications (expected)
According to reports, the upcoming phone will have a 10-inch OLED screen, a potent Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and an amazing camera setup that includes a 200MP primary camera, a 10MP 3x camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP selfie camera.
However, prospective buyers might be put off by the device's high price tag, which is anticipated to exceed four million won (roughly $2,922).
Samsung tri-fold launch (expected)
According to Samsung executive, the tri-fold device is ready for production, while the South Korean-based tech giant is still hesitant about when to launch it.
Speaking to Android Authority, a Samsung executive stated: “I can’t say for certain, and again, I come back to the point: we have it, we are ready (for it), and we can put it into production, but for what purpose? That’s what we’re deeply investigating at the moment."
Samsung's new tri-fold phone seems to be a "when" rather than an "if," though the precise launch date is still unknown.
The tech giant may first introduce the tri-fold device in China and Korea with a potential worldwide rollout later this year.
