The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has rejected claims, which are widely circulating on social media about a complete suspension of gas supply in Karachi due to a severe shortage in its system.

The company, in an official clarification, stated that no such announcement has been made and reports indicating a citywide shutdown of gas supply are false.

SSGC said that gas distribution in Karachi continues under the existing winter load management policy. The company clarified that night load management remains in place from 10pm to 5am, as per the current schedule.

The company advised consumers to not trust any unofficial reports, while rely on official sources for accurate information and avoid spreading unverified reports.

Karachiites are requested to contact SSGC's helpline or visit its official website for authentic updates.

Earlier, the government lifted the ban on new gas connections across Pakistan, as a significant move to facilitate citizens. Consumers can now easily apply for a new gas connection through the official websites and mobile applications of the Sui companies.
