The iPhone maker, Apple, has long remained indulged in expansion plans for its only digital payment method Tap to Pay on iPhone, and it appears in light of a recent report that the undergoing strategies have begun to come to fruition, as Apple has rolled out Tap to Pay in Germany.

Tap to Pay's expansion to Germany comes a month after it made its way to Italy, hinting at Apple's commitment to making it available across the globe.

Considering the upsurge in e-shopping in this highly digitised, modern era, Tap to Pay serves as a vital feature for vendors worldwide to accept payments with an iPhone.

Apple’s Tap to Pay now available in Germany

“Apple today introduced Tap to Pay on the iPhone in Germany, enabling millions of merchants to use the iPhone for a smooth and secure processing of contactless payments in the retail store,” Apple confirmed while addressing the press on Tuesday.

Similar to other countries where the contactless payment feature on iPhone is already available, Apple collaborated with the most prominent payment platforms in Germany to ensure seamless Tap to Pay support immediately after the feature arrived in the country.

Out of all, the first payment platforms in Germany to have teamed up with Apple and offer Tap to Pay on iPhone are Adyen, Commerz Globalpay, myPOS, Nexi, SumUp, and Viva.

Tap to Pay allows merchants to take contactless payments from Apple Pay and other payment platforms by using a compatible iOS app on an iPhone running on iOS 15.4 or later. This means that a merchant must own an iPhone XS or newer as they run on the back of the latest iOS version.

While receiving payments with this method, merchants just have to ask the customer to hold their iPhone, Apple Watch, or compatible NFC card close to the merchant's iPhone to complete the payment.
