In light of the ongoing law and order situation across Pakistan, rumour has it that the federal capital's district administration has declared a three-day public holiday in Islamabad.
Considering the clarification issued by Islamabad's district administration, this information is false, and no holidays have been announced from October 14 to October 16 in Islamabad.
The claim was made in an allegedly fabricated notification on social media, whose authenticity has stirred a wave of confusion city-wide, Bloom Pakistan reported.
Earlier on Monday, the Islamabad district administration's clarification explained that all roads in the city are open, and daily life continues as normal.
The official statement noted that while traffic flow has slowed at some points due to temporary barriers for public safety, movement throughout the city remains unrestricted. It added that Islamabad Traffic Police teams are actively managing traffic to ensure smooth travel on all major routes.
It was also confirmed that all commercial and business activities are fully operational, with daily routines unaffected.
The notification also outlined that there are no protests or public gatherings occurring anywhere in Islamabad.
