In an effort to increase travel and commerce, Uzbekistan Airways has introduced direct flights from Tashkent to Islamabad, effective May 24, 2025.

The new air route is anticipated to enhance the connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, facilitating easy travel for people and businesses between the two nations.

Notably, the airline will start with one flight a week, which will be on every Saturday. Negotiations are still underway with Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to complete all the arrangements.

If there is sufficient demand, Uzbekistan Airways intends to add more flights in the months ahead.

This new air route from Tashkent to Islamabad is a part of a larger plan to further develop the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

Moreover, the airline is also planning to introduce direct flights to Karachi soon, along with the current Tashkent-Lahore flights, which already fly twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Officials claim that direct flights will serve multiple purposes. They will encourage tourism, enhance trade, and facilitate people from both nations to travel to each other.

Furthermore, the initiative is being co-supported by the Uzbek embassy in Islamabad and Uzbekistan Airways JSC as part of their strategy to develop greater regional cooperation.
