The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department on Thursday announced to extend the deadline for vehicle token tax payments to January 15, 2025, giving vehicle owners an extra 15 days to pay their dues and avoid penalties.
The department warned that failing to pay taxes on time could lead to the cancellation of vehicle registrations and penalties of up to 200% of the unpaid amount.
Moreover, to make it easier for citizens, excise offices will remain open until 8:00pm for token tax payments. Director Excise Bilal Azam urged vehicle owners to make the most of this extension to avoid legal action.
Convenient ICT Doorstep service for citizens
On Thursday, the department provided vehicle-related services —including vehicle registration, transfers, and token tax payments— at the Trail 3 parking lot from 2:00 to 4:00pm, offering a convenient and hassle-free process for citizens.
Additionally, the ICT administration has introduced the ICT Doorstep service, which brings a range of administrative services to citizens’ homes.
However, through this initiative, vehicle owners and others can access services like domicile certificates, birth certificates, power of attorney documents, international driving permits, and fuel permits conveniently.
How to access ICT Doorstep service
Citizens are encouraged to use the facilitation centres or the ICT Doorstep Service for proper handling of paperwork. They can use the toll-free number 051-111-383-383 to fix an appointment and area for these services.
Furthermore, the Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department aims to simplify the process of paying vehicle token tax and completing other administrative tasks by extending the deadline.
