Alibaba’s new Quark AI glasses are now available for purchase in China, marking the company’s entry into the global wearable technology market.

These cutting-edge glasses, first introduced in July 2025, are designed to compete with major tech giants, particularly Meta.

The Quark AI glasses come in two models: the S1 and the G1. The G1 model starts at 1,899 Chinese yuan (approx. Rs75,792), while the S1 is priced at around 3,700 yuan (approx. Rs147,674). The main difference between the two lies in their displays; the S1 features lenses that act as screens, along with an integrated frame camera.

Powered by Alibaba's Qwen AI model, the glasses can perform a wide range of tasks. Key features include AI-generated meeting notes, real-time translation, virtual assistant support, and a lens-embedded camera.

Alibaba’s Quark AI glasses are currently available on major Chinese e-commerce platforms such as Douyin, Tmall and JD.com. The company will initially focus on domestic sales as it prepares to compete with local rivals like Xreal and Xiaomi.

Meta has also entered the race with its $799 (approx. Rs77,712) Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. With starting prices as low as roughly $275 (approx. Rs77,712) for the G1, Alibaba’s Quark AI glasses are positioned as a more affordable alternative.

The launch demonstrates Alibaba’s commitment to innovation and its ambition to become a key player in the global wearable technology space.
