Android 16 is set to revolutionise the way we capture screenshots with its latest feature called High Dynamic Range (HDR) screenshots.
Spotted in the latest Beta 2 update, this upgrade will enable users to capture screenshots with full clarity due to the HDR technology.
Previous Android versions struggled to properly capture HDR content in screenshots, resulting in washed-out images.
What is HDR technology?
The HDR technology offers a wider range of brightness and colours compared to Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), resulting in more realistic visuals and greater details.
Although Google introduced Ultra HDR with Android 13 and 14, screenshots were still saved in SDR, resulting in dimmed regions within screenshots.
Now with Android 16, screenshots captured on Beta 2 devices are being saved in HDR format, meaning that users will finally be able to capture and share screenshots that truly reflect the vibrant colours and details of their phone's display.
