Cat Quest 3, the latest instalment in the action RPG series by The Gentlebros, has received a major update featuring the most awaited Mew Game mode.
The game is set in the vibrant Purribean, widely known for its charming cat characters, pirate adventures, and engaging combat. This update adds new challenges, gameplay modifiers, and balancing tweaks, making it even more exciting for returning players.
Cat Quest 3 Mew Game mode features
The Mew Game mode is designed for players who have already completed the game and are looking for an extra challenge. The NEW Game Plus mode introduces customisable difficulty settings with different modifiers, known as meowdifiers, to create a unique gameplay experience.
Players can activate features like “Nine Lives,” which limits them to only nine game-overs before the save file is deleted, or "Fast Furwards", which doubles the game speed.
Other modifiers include "Naked Paws", preventing the use of armour and weapons, "Purre Magic", restricting combat to magic spells only, and "No Leveling", which stops players from gaining experience points.
Moreover, for those who want an extreme challenge, "Ruffer Enemies" spawns stronger foes, and "No Upgrades" blocks any enhancements to weapons, spells, or gear. Players who activate multiple modifiers will receive greater rewards for completing the game under tougher conditions.
In addition to Mew Game mode, the update includes game balancing improvements and bug fixes. The damage from the Mewteor and Ice Paw attacks has been slightly reduced, while a bug that caused some items to appear at unexpectedly high levels has been fixed. The shield dodge animation has also been adjusted to look more distinct.
