Apple is likely to launch M4 Mac Mini, but it is expected to be introduced with a few significant modifications. Reports suggested that Apple is planning to skip the M3 chip and support M2 and M4 in the upcoming model. Gadinsider briefly discusses everything that tipsters have recently suggested about the soon-to-be released device.

Design

Apple redesigned the Mac mini model in 2023 and made it thicker and lighter, similar design is expected to be available in the upcoming model. According to a tipster Ming-Chi Kuo, ‘Next new ‌Mac mini‌’ might support the similar "Form factor design". A few years ago some rumours were also speculated about the plexiglass top along with furthermore design related changes which were never integrated.

M4 Chip

The upcoming Mac mini is likely to be equipped with M4 as well as M4 Pro chips, Apple might exclusively skip the M3 line and support M2 to M4. Apple has recently launched the M4 chip (second-generation 3-nanometer technology) in iPad Pro. In contrast, the M2 chip provides 50% rapid CPU performance with 4x rapid rendering performance.

The M4 chip also supports a 10-core CPU and GPU, consisting of another variant supporting 9-core CPU, but Apple is expected to integrate these features in iPad Pro and MACBook air instead of Mac mini.

Release date

Bloomberg’s Correspondent Mark Gurman has suggested that Mac mini is expected to be launched with 14-inch as well as 16-inch MacBook Pro models by the end of 2024.
