After a brief suspension, the Consulate General of Germany in Karachi has restored full operations for non-EU citizens, as of the lifting of the temporary service halt initiated on July 28, 2025.

In a notification issued on Monday, August 4, 2025, the German Consulate Karachi confirmed that all consular and visa services for non-European Union nationals are now fully functional and operating as normal.

“The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Karachi, has resumed normal operations for non-EU citizens,” the statement read.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), @GermanyinKHI stated: “Visa service from the German Consulate will resume on August 5.”

The temporary suspension, which took effect on June 28, led to the indefinite cancellation of all confirmed visa appointments for non-EU applicants.

At the time, the consulate provided no official reason for the decision and directed impacted individuals to re-register through the online appointment system.

With the resumption of services, applicants can now proceed with visa applications, documentation requests, and other related matters.

Moreover, the consulate acknowledged the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their understanding during the disruption.

The consulate emphasised that the halt was a precautionary measure and that efforts were made to restore services as quickly as possible.
