The new digital visa system allows applicants to submit their visa applications online from anywhere in the world, with the Consular Services Portal enabling them to track their visa status in real time, making the process more transparent and efficient.
It is worth noting that the system has been introduced to simplify the application process for skilled workers, students, apprentices, and those seeking family reunification.
Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock highlighted the country’s need for at least 400,000 skilled workers each year to keep its economy strong.
The digital visa system aims to attract global talent, particularly in the healthcare, tech, and vocational education sectors.
Moreover, the digital visa process facilitates the placement of skilled individuals into appropriate roles across various fields, including construction, nursing, and cybersecurity.
