Google has released three new AI-powered updates for its Workspace users, which will improve the efficiency of tasks in Gmail, Google Chat, and creative tools.

These AI updates make Workspace tools smarter and more user-friendly, helping businesses and individuals work faster and more creatively.

Gemini in Gmail: Faster email responses

Google has improved the Gemini AI assistant in Gmail, allowing users to insert AI-generated responses directly into email drafts.

Previously, Gemini could help users find emails and summarise messages. Now, users can open Gemini in Gmail, ask a question, and insert the response into their email drafts instantly.

Moreover, this feature is now available for Google Workspace Business and Enterprise users who have access to Gemini in Gmail.

Google Chat: Quick commands for faster actions

Google Chat has introduced "quick commands" to replace the existing slash commands. This update enables users to interact with Chat apps without typing the traditional slash (/) commands.

Instead, users can select quick commands from a menu next to the message box. This update will gradually roll out and is expected to be available to all users by March 3, 2025.

Enhanced AI image generation with Imagen 3

Google has upgraded its AI-powered image generation tool across Workspace with the latest Imagen 3 model. This update improves details and textures in generated images, and now allows users to create AI-generated pictures of people.

Furthermore, the feature is now available in Google Docs, Slides, Drive, Gmail, and the Gemini app. The rollout for Gemini Advanced is complete, and the feature will be available in the Gemini app by March 1, 2025.
