In a significant move aimed at facilitating students, Google has announced to grant them a full year of its AI-powered premium subscription free of charge.
Valid for a limited time for students, the Google One AI Premium plan typically costs $20 per month and gives access to advanced features like Gemini Advanced, Gemini Live, and AI-enhanced tools in Google Workspace, including Docs and Slides.
The subscription also offers 2 TB of cloud storage, which comes as an additional perk for students managing a treasure trove of academic documents.
To make the most of this offer, students are required to be 18 or above and sign up using a verified email address containing “.edu” by 30 June 2025. Following registration, the plan will be active until July 2026, after which students will be asked to reverify their academic status to continue enjoying the aforementioned benefits.
While the offer is an attractive opportunity for students to explore AI-powered productivity tools, it is not accessible to most Pakistani students.
The eligibility requirement excludes those with “.edu.pk” or other regional domains, limiting access within Pakistan’s local academic institutions.
Fortunately, Pakistani students enrolled in international universities, particularly in the US, and having a “.edu” email address can still take advantage of the offer.
With AI gaining ever-increasing importance in academic and professional areas, this offer is expected to let students ease their workload and learn in an efficient manner.
