Google is working to expand Gemini's capabilities, making it an integral part of users' interactions with their devices.

Following the release of Gemini Live, a new and interactive interface of its existing Gemini, Google has started to roll out a new look for its AI feature on Android phones.

The search giant has introduced a floating overlay panel with a subtle glow animation for Gemini AI which was first revealed in May at Google’s developer conference.

Gemini's floating panel

The new panel allows Gemini responses to appear directly within the current app, instead of taking up the entire screen, enabling users to stay focused on their task while still getting the required information from Gemini and those who want to experience the full-screen view can open the panel by tapping the top-right corner.

Additionally, this floating panel can be expanded to view longer responses and also works smoothly with Google Gemini's image generation capabilities.

The feature also enables users to drag anything generated into apps such as Gmail or Google Messages.

This floating panel would make it easier to use and further enhance the capabilities of Gemini. It is available for select Android users only and will be rolled out more widely in a few weeks.
