JPEG XL support in iPhone 16 series
According to the leaks, Apple is expected to integrate JPEG-XL image format in the iPhone 16 series, the first smartphone to support this format.
JPEG XL is the next-generation image format designed to offer better compression and image quality compared to traditional formats such as JPEG.
The tech giant has already introduced support for the JPEG XL in iOS 17 and macOS 14. Now, users can expect better-quality images and reduced file sizes, making it easier to store and share high-resolution images.
This new development highlights Apple's commitment to providing improved visual technology while meeting the levels of advanced photography.
Notably, the iPhone 16 series will not be supporting 8K recording. However, there will be an upgrade in video recording as the upcoming flagship will support 4K 120fps recording which is higher than the previous support for capturing videos at 4K 60fps featured on the iPhone 15 series.
