In a major overhaul, Apple is reportedly preparing to overhaul its flagship iPhone lineup later this year, reportedly introducing a new model called the “iPhone 17 Air” while replacing the current Plus variant.

Citing a prolific tipster, MajinBu, Digital Trends provided the clearest glimpse of the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. Images shared by the publication were of a realistic dummy unit, showcasing the latest iPhone's design, which appeared to be made of a metallic frame and a two-toned glass rear panel.

Given the leak, it seems that Apple is continuing to combine glossy and frosted glass textures.

The leaked images also suggest a horizontal camera island that blends into the rear glass shell, instead of prominently standing out.

The purported iPhone 17 Air's design layout bears a slight resemblance to the design language of the Google Pixel 9 series. The biggest imitation lies in the pill-shaped camera module.

According to earlier reports, the iPhone 17 Air will feature a single 48-megapixel rear camera, alongside a 24-megapixel front-facing camera. It is expected to be powered by Apple’s new A19 processor, built on a 3-nanometre process, supported by 12GB of RAM.

The iPhone 17 Air is said to measure just 5.1mm in thickness, featuring a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

It's worth noting that the handset is also expected to adopt an eSIM-only approach across all markets and include an in-house modem, although details on its 5G capabilities remain uncertain.
