In a massive leap forward for Pakistan's energy sector, K-Electric (KE) and its subsidiary K-Solar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies to jointly develop and deploy innovative energy technologies across Pakistan.

The partnership's focus will be directed to utility-scale and industrial-level battery energy storage systems (BESS), electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and the development of microgrids.

The MoU between the energy giants establishes a framework for cooperative feasibility assessments, technology sharing, and pilot implementations, helping Pakistan to easily ensure a cleaner and smarter energy landscape.

"This partnership aligns with our broader investment strategy and sustainability roadmap while building resilience into the energy value chain through diversified, tech-enabled assets. We believe innovation is essential to securing Pakistan’s energy future" said Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani, CFO of KE and chairman K-Solar.

Kevin Jin Yu, the managing director of Digital Power at Huawei Pakistan, expressed pride in partnering with KE and K-Solar to enable efficient energy systems across Pakistan.

Yu outlined the potential of combining Huawei's expertise in smart infrastructure with KE's command in creating scalable, secure, and sustainable energy solutions locally.

K-Solar CEO Fahd Khawaja said the collaboration aims to provide efficient and reliable battery energy storage solutions for industrial users nationwide by making the most of cutting-edge technology.

The initiative will also tap the potential of regulatory frameworks to accelerate the adoption of new energy solutions, particularly designed for Pakistan's energy needs.
