Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) on Thursday announced the temporary closure of the old Pipri Pumping Station for maintenance work, which might impact water supply in several areas of the city.
According to KWSC spokesperson, the old Pipri Pumping Station in Karachi will remain closed for four days while maintenance activities are carried out. The maintenance work will continue from January 10 to January 13, during which several areas — Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, and Model Town — will experience water supply shortage.
The water corporation noted that while water supply from the old Pipri Pumping Station in Karachi will be temporarily closed, the new Pipri Pumping Station will operate to supply water.
The water corporation also stated that the Landhi and Sherpao hydrants will remain temporarily closed during the four-day maintenance work.
KWSC advised impacted residents to take necessary precautions and store water in advance until the maintenance work is completed and normal supply is restored.
