After subsequently witnessing cuts in previous sessions as a relief to the general public, the petrol price in Pakistan has been increased by Re1, effective June 1, 2025.
With a slight uptick implemented, the new petrol price in Pakistan settled at Rs253.63 per litre, ARY News reported, down from its previous rate of Rs252.63.
The tiny drop was confirmed through the issuance of an official notification from the finance ministry.
It's worth noting that the rate of diesel in Pakistan remains unchanged at Rs254.64 per litre nationwide.
The latest price hike follows the federal government announcement on May 16, 2025, to keep petrol prices unchanged for the previous fortnight, keeping it at Rs252.63 per litre.
In the last fuel price adjustment in Pakistan, the price of high-speed diesel was reduced by Rs2, settling at Rs254.64 per litre.
On April 30, the government lowered both petrol and diesel prices by Rs2 each, with petrol priced at Rs252.63 per litre and diesel at Rs256.64 per litre.
As the government aims to keep pace with the petroleum prices in the global markets, citizens are bound to undergo the impact of slight changes in their daily transportation costs.
