With the petrol price in Pakistan approaching another revision, the federal government of Pakistan has announced that petrol prices will remain unchanged at Rs252.63 per litre for the next fortnight.
The revised petrol price will remain effective from May 16 to May 31, aims to provide stability amid fluctuating global oil markets.
However, the price of high-speed diesel has been decreased by Rs2 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs254.64 per litre.
This fuel price adjustment comes on the heels of a Rs2 reduction in the rates of both petrol and diesel on April 30.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier stated that the government would focus on passing the benefits of declining global oil prices to the public through development projects instead of further price cuts.
He also outlined that the benefits of lower petrol prices in the international market would be directed towards facilitating initiatives for the people.
As the government opts for no price adjustment this time, consumers will be eager to see how these changes impact their daily expenses in the coming weeks.
