This deal makes the M1 MacBook Air an excellent choice for anyone seeking an affordable entry into the Apple laptop world.
Apple's M1 MacBook Air, released in 2020, may now be three years old and lagging behind the latest M3 models, but its performance remains noteworthy. Back in 2020, we praised it as being faster than many PCs, and it still holds up well for everyday tasks like streaming, web browsing, and even light creative work.
While the M1 chip doesn't quite keep up with the demands of intense video editing or high-end gaming, it boasts an impressive Retina display, silent operation (thanks to no fan noise), a high-quality keyboard and trackpad, and excellent battery life of over 16 hours. The new M3 MacBook Airs only slightly surpass this battery performance.
The M1 MacBook Air features the classic wedge-shaped design, which some may prefer over the newer flat design of the latest models. Equipped with a standard 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, it's a basic but efficient configuration. The 720p webcam does its job, though it's not the most high-definition option out there.
