Microsoft has officially launched its new AI-powered feature called Recall for all Copilot Plus PCs. This tool helps users find what they were doing on their computer by taking regular screenshots.

The aim is to help people easily search for things they’ve seen before, even if they can’t remember the file name or exact time.

Along with Recall, Microsoft is also adding smarter Windows Search and a new feature called Click to Do.

Copilot Plus PCs are AI-powered Windows computers designed to make everyday tasks easier. These machines use artificial intelligence to give users quick suggestions, smarter search, and better performance.

Microsoft's Recall feature

Recall was first announced last year but got delayed due to privacy concerns. Microsoft says it has now improved security and made Recall an opt-in feature. This means users can choose to turn it on or leave it off.

Moreover, the data it collects is saved securely, and Microsoft has tried to block sensitive information automatically. However, some experts say the filter doesn’t always work perfectly.

In addition to Recall, the AI-powered Windows Search now understands natural language. So, instead of typing a file name, users can search by describing the content. For example, you can simply type “brown dog” to find a saved photo of a dog.

Another helpful tool, Click to Do, lets users highlight anything on their screen to get smart actions, like summarising text or editing an image. This feature is currently only available on Qualcomm-powered PCs but will come to AMD and Intel devices soon.
