In a creative twist to Minecraft's gameplay, a modder has introduced a custom mob named Enderchester, designed to assist players with mining. This unique mob collects mined materials and grants XP orbs, enhancing the efficiency of the mining process.

Minecraft has always allowed players to modify the game, providing endless possibilities, several modders have introduced tools like World Edit for building, Lithium for performance optimisation, and mods that add other intellectual properties, like Pixelmon’s version of Pokemon.

Minecraft introduces new custom Enderchester mod

Recently, a gamer created a mudpack that introduces Enderchester, a custom mob designed to make mining easier. Several videos surfaced on Reddit showcasing the custom mob, indicating that it resembles a mimic from the Dungeons & Dragons universe but with the Ancient City aesthetic. After placing Enderchester, the player tames it by feeding it an Ender Pearl, which can be collected from defeated Endermen.

Once tamed, Enderchester opens its mouth to reveal an empty chest inventory, ready to collect mined materials. The mod will be added to the Easycraft Modpack in upcoming versions.

Despite Enderchester collecting resources, the Minecraft XP orbs still flow to players, ensuring they gain experience. The modder can also demonstrate that the mob can be instructed to stay put, activated by crouching before clicking on it.

It is unclear if Enderchester's pathfinding is strong enough for complex caves or if it must follow a straight path as shown in videos surfacing. While some Reddit users praised the mod for its design, others appreciated its mining utility.

As Enderchester bears similarities to creatures from the Deep Dark or an Ancient City, the modder might create history to justify its presence. Given Mojang's continued addition of mobs to Minecraft, Enderchester could potentially be included in the base game in the future.
