Microsoft just unveiled the integration of four new games in the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. However, the company doesn’t have nearly the same kind of foothold in Japan as its competitors do, but it's not for lack of trying.

Microsoft has made many attempts to break into Japan and Asian markets in general, receiving huge Japanese role-playing games (JRPG) exclusives back in the Xbox 360 days and working to bring some of the best Japan-made games to Xbox and Game Pass.

Previously, different Final Fantasy games have been integrated into Xbox Game Pass, as have the Yakuza games. Xbox Game Pass is the framework of Microsoft's current strategy, so it's important for the company to fill it with a wide variety of games.

Microsoft is set to update the Xbox Game Pass lineup on September 26 to include four more games to the mix. Xbox Game Pass integrates the co-op game All You Need Is Help, Legend of Mana, Trials of Mana, and We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie.

Out of these, the Mana games are expected to be the most famous, but All You Need Is Help's status as both a day-one game and a game with local co-op may help it stand out from the pack.

The sudden integration of four additional Xbox Game Pass games is a big deal, as September 2024 has been a surprisingly barren month for the service.

With the Tokyo Game Show additions, the number of games included in the Xbox Game Pass for September 2024 and the games being removed are tied at 14 apiece.
