Sparking excitement among Apple enthusiasts, a new Apple TV 4K model is rumoured to be in the works, with a possible release date set for 2025.
This potential upgrade would mark the first refresh since October 2022, promising significant enhancements to this popular streaming device.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s next-generation TV 4K streaming device will likely be released toward the end of this year.
What to expect from new Apple TV 4K?
The new Apple TV 4K is expected to feature a custom-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo chipset. Codenamed Proxima, the chip supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
If integrated, this in-house wireless chip will replace the Broadcom chips already used in the Apple TV. This new hardware could enhance streaming performance.
Gurman also claimed that the new Apple TV will likely be built with Apple's new smart home ecosystem in mind, potentially revolutionising its connectivity capabilities.
Moreover, Gurman noted that Apple is expected to introduce a revamped Mac Studio later this year, featuring the cutting-edge M4 Max and M4 Ultra chips.
