Nintendo Switch Online has expanded its Game Boy collection with two classic games, Donkey Kong (1994) and Mario’s Picross (1995), available from March 7. These additions allow players to experience nostalgic titles on the modern console.

Donkey Kong (1994) is a puzzle platformer inspired by the 1981 arcade game. Players control Mario, who must rescue Pauline from Donkey Kong by solving tricky platforming challenges.

Meanwhile, Mario’s Picross is a puzzle game where players solve nonograms, a number-based logic puzzle. The game became popular and inspired Picross versions of Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

What to expect from two new Game Boy games?

Nintendo Switch Online has been adding classic Game Boy games regularly. The service already includes well-known titles like Castlevania Legends (1997), which explores the origin of Dracula and the Belmont family’s feud.

Notably, the fans of the Mega Man series can play Mega Man 2-5, while Kirby lovers can enjoy Kirby’s Dream Land games. The subscription also features iconic Nintendo mascot games like Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.

Launched in 1989, the Game Boy was one of the best-selling consoles in history. It introduced legendary games such as Pokemon Red & Blue, DuckTales, and Wario Land. Although discontinued in 2003, the Nintendo Switch Online service ensures these classics remain accessible to modern players.
