In an effort to stay ahead of the competition, particularly Google’s Gemini 3, OpenAI has released its latest AI model, GPT-5.2.
The new model significantly improves general intelligence, coding, and long-context comprehension, making it suitable for professional use.
To cater to different needs and tasks, GPT-5.2 is available in three versions: Instant, Thinking, and Pro. The thinking model is particularly strong at complex, structured tasks and could transform coding, analysis, and planning.
Designed to help professionals work faster and more efficiently, GPT-5.2 is OpenAI’s most capable model series to date. The model excels in spreadsheets, presentations, writing, programming, and understanding lengthy contexts.
GPT-5.2 follows CEO Sam Altman’s internal “code red” memo, which urged teams to focus on improving the core ChatGPT experience.
According to Altman, OpenAI is expected to exit its code red phase by January, and Google’s Gemini 3 has had less impact on ChatGPT’s metrics than initially anticipated.
Paid ChatGPT users, including Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers, now have access to GPT-5.2, along with developer API support.
The model is expected to deliver significant financial value to users by boosting productivity and saving time.
