Pakistan Railways on Monday temporarily suspended its winter schedule and decided to continue following the summer timings for train arrivals and departures.

According to officials, this decision comes in the wake of ongoing engineering restrictions and signal system issues that have been causing frequent delays.

It should be noted that, for the first time in history, train operations will follow a summer schedule instead of winters. The previous timetable — originally in effect from April 15 to October 14, 2025 — has now been reinstated from November 10.

"Passengers are advised to confirm updated departure train timing before their journey to avoid any inconvenience," said Pakistan Railways, adding that the suspension is a temporary measure, assuring that the regular schedule would be restored once maintenance work and signalling systems are completed.

Engineering works on different sections of the railway track have extended travel time between Karachi and Lahore by more than four hours, and some trains now take up to 24 hours to complete their travel.
