The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication on Tuesday announced plans to hold a national Artificial Intelligence (AI) conference in early 2026 to strengthen Pakistan’s growing AI ecosystem and encourage the use of technologies across key sectors.
According to officials, the conference will allow interaction between local and international startups, technology companies, researchers, and policymakers with industry experts.
It will highlight recent advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics and will allow interactions and discussions on AI-based innovations at a policymakers’ level.
The conference will focus on the role of AI in contributing to economic growth and the digital transformation of the economy, as well as the effective delivery of services.
Some of the keynote sessions of the conference include the application of AI in the fields of health, education, agriculture, fintech, and e-governance, as well as cybersecurity.
Startups and tech companies would be provided opportunities for demonstration of AI-enabled products, tools, and research, while investors and leaders would be expected to explore possible collaborations and investment opportunities.
The meeting would also throw insight into some of the problems faced by startups in the country, especially regarding scaling up AI solutions and entering international markets.
The ministry said that the planned AI conference is consistent with the digital strategy of the Pakistani government, which is to encourage innovation, build human resource capabilities, and introduce artificial intelligence responsibly.
