In a development highlighting Pakistanis' dedication to bringing change by making the most of education, a Pakistani-American made it to be among four members of The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) community honoured with the prestigious Presidential Citation Award.

The renowned Longhorns (people affiliated with UT Austin) have been recognised with the highest honour bestowed by UT for their unwavering commitment to supporting the University.

“These are exceptionally accomplished individuals who have had a transformational impact on The University of Texas,” said Jay Hartzell, the president of UT Austin.

“That input has truly changed the lives of thousands, as they have created opportunities for students, connected us with thought leaders around the world, and provided difference-making strategic guidance. They are all deserving of our University’s highest honour.”

Who is Amir Husain from UT Austin?

Amir Husain is an AI technologist, entrepreneur, and author based in Austin. He founded SparkCognition (now Avathon) and SkyGrid, leading innovations in AI and defence. A recipient of multiple honours and the author of several books on AI, he serves on advisory boards at UT and NATO and has over 30 patents.
