As Pakistan's budding entrepreneurs and their startups continue to garner global recognition, data from the IT ministry has confirmed this immense growth, showing that startups from the National Incubation Centre (NIC) have raised an impressive Rs31.6 billion from both local and international investors.
The NIC programme, overseen by the Ignite–National Technology Fund under the IT ministry, is Pakistan’s largest public-sector innovation platform.
The incubation centre is operated in major cities, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi.
Since its establishment, the NIC is said to have incubated over 1,990 startups, generating Rs27 billion in revenue and creating more than 185,000 jobs nationwide.
It offers a comprehensive incubation ecosystem, which includes mentorship, connections to investors, business development training, modern co-working spaces, and opportunities for international exposure.
These initiatives also allowed local startups to evolve into globally competitive technology ventures, fostering innovation and simultaneously improving Pakistan’s expanding digital economy.
The NIC's growth and its startups highlight the potential for entrepreneurship in the country, likely to pave the way for a brighter future in technology and innovation.
