In what seems to be a doubling down on artificial intelligence (AI), Motorola is set to pack its latest Razr phones, including Razr Ultra, Razr+, and Razr, with AI-driven features with its Moto AI in a collaboration with Perplexity to incorporate its AI search engine.
Moto AI has recently emerged as Motorola’s exclusive platform designed to offer AI tools to users. As part of the latest push, all new Motorola smartphones, including the new Razr and Edge 60 series, will be equipped with Perplexity's AI search engine app.
Users opting for these devices will receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Perplexity Pro, which usually costs $20 per month.
Besides tools for deep research, advanced shopping assistance, unlimited file uploads and AI-powered reasoning, the Pro plan also grants access to powerful AI models such as GPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet and Sonar.
Custom features from the partnership include a Perplexity Assistant for tasks like sending emails, setting reminders and booking restaurants. Access to the AI chatbot will also be provided using commands like “Ask Perplexity”.
One of Moto AI’s standout tools is Catch Me Up, which summarises and distils notifications and updates, imitating Apple Intelligence’s notification summaries.
