Perseid meteor shower on August 12-13 coincided with the northern lights, leaving skywatchers in awe. The phenomenon was captured worldwide by photographers who managed to take breathtaking images of the event.

How Perseid meteor shower is caused?

The Perseid meteor shower comes from Earth's passage through a trail of comet debris left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle, which sheds small particles like ice and rock that enter Earth's atmosphere in the form of bright streaks of light.

This comet known as the constellation of Perseus was discovered in 1862, came close to the Earth last in 1992, and is expected again in the year 2126.
