Modernisation of Lahore Railway Station will include special facilities for differently-abled persons, children, and senior citizens

The Punjab government on Tuesday announced its plan to modernise and add beauty to the roads, along with infrastructure in the surroundings of Lahore Railway Station.

Under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, this project aims to improve the appearance and various facilities in the areas around the station.

The roads, footpaths, and pedestrian pathways around the railway station will be constructed and rehabilitated, along with modern parking areas, a proper traffic management system, and solar lighting will be installed. 

A budget of Rs800 million has been approved for the development of the green belts, environmental advancement, a mini train, a musical fountain, and a park for travellers. 

Special facilities for differently-abled travellers

The project will include special facilities for differently-abled persons, children, and senior citizens. Moreover, a water recycling system, which will function for the efficient use of rainwater. 

With the modernisation of Lahore Railway Station, the Punjab government aims to make it align with international standards while providing a comfortable travel experience to citizens without any issues.
