On the sidelines of the breathtaking debut of its latest iPhone 17 and the thinnest iPhone Air, Apple has extended its satellite connectivity trial for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models.

Initially rolled out in September 2022 for two years, iPhone's satellite connectivity service was given an additional year in November 2023.

However, the Cupertino-based tech bellwether announced during its September 9 event that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users will be offered another year of complimentary access to the satellite feature.

Who's eligible for extended satellite connectivity feature on iPhone 14 and iPhone 15?

It must be noted that this prolonging is exclusive to users who activated their devices in areas where satellite services are available before September 9, 2025. That said, early adopters can enjoy uninterrupted access to the iPhone's satellite connectivity feature until mid-September 2026.

For those unfamiliar, the satellite connectivity tool, which is available on the iPhone 14 and newer models, allows users to stay connected even when cellular and Wi-Fi networks are unavailable.

The feature enables iPhone users to send texts to emergency services, request roadside assistance, share their location, and send brief updates to family and friends, all while being off the grid.

This feature enhances safety and connectivity for users in remote areas, making it a life-saving addition to Apple’s wide range of offerings.
