In a move aimed at choosing fortunate Pakistani scientists for marking a historical milestone, the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) is open to receiving proposals from scientists, researchers, and students to join China's prestigious crewed mission to the China Space Station (CSS).
The CSS mission, scheduled for 2026, will enable Pakistan to level up its footprint in space science and exploration, according to The Express Tribune.
That said, Pakistan is bracing to send its first astronaut into space in a remarkable collaboration with China.
Proposals are being accepted in exclusive scientific domains, including biotechnology, space life sciences, fluid dynamics, material science, and astrophysics.
It should be noted that experiment proposals should be exclusive ideas, concepts designed to be viably executed within one week. These concepts must also be cost-effective, lightweight, and easy to conduct for a single astronaut on board.
It was also learned that the experiments should be compatible with the technical capabilities of the CSS and must not be an imitation of those previously carried out on the International Space Station (ISS).
The space regulatory body has maintained that preference is reserved for projects whose outcomes will contribute to sustainable development.
