Currently, Google Photos Magic Editor tool’s features including Auto Frame and Reimagine are in the testing process for Pixel devices released during 2021 and 2023, including the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 series handsets.
What is Auto frame tool?
The Auto frame is an AI-powered built-in tool in the Magic Editor and works as a post-process photographic technique to create better-framed images from the initial photo.
The AI tool appears as a permanent suggestion for users. It focuses on photo composition, identifies the focal point of the photo, and balances it.
Reimagine feature
The Reimagine feature is a more enhanced version of Magic Editor. It uses generative AI to change different elements in a picture. Users can type prompts to change the appearance of other items, according to their preference.
Furthermore, the report also revealed that the Photos app's version for non-Pixel devices doesn’t include the code strings for these Magic Editor tools, meaning they won't be available to non-Pixel devices anytime soon.
