Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, has recently begun grabbing headlines, but not for the reasons one might think about a tech giant.
Samsung is in hot waters about a controversy involving the paint peeling off the brand-new Galaxy Z Fold 6, which emerged just a few weeks after the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 series.
Having bought a $2000 smartphone with its shiny paint finish withering away could never be justified. The issue has left many wondering if something is wrong with the device itself or with the way it's being carried.

Rather than admitting a folly and recalling all the sold-out units, Samsung resorted to a blog on its official support page, stating that the paint peeling was probably caused by “improperly grounded third-party chargers.”
As per the tech giant, third-party chargers are likely to leak current, ruining the device's anodised finish and removal of paint.
Although Samsung nodded in agreement with the high-quality third-party chargers that abide by its standards, it goes against subpar ones that may “corrode the metal” of the Galaxy devices because of electrical current leakage.
This sort of explanation from a leading smartphone manufacturer like Samsung has irked netizens questioning how a mere charging method could peel the paint off a smartphone, something which has never been heard about Samsung devices in the past.
