Almost two weeks after it came under the grip of a significant outage, ChatGPT has once again been reported unfunctional.

While some users' reports indicate towards a relatively shorter lifespan of the latest breakdown, being a second consecutive downtime for one of the best artificial intelligence service (AI) points towards the persistently rising trend of internet services malfunctioning more frequently.
As far as the shorter existence of the OpenAI-owned AI service's disruption is concerned, the outage lasted only three hours, according to reports reviewed by Tech Radar.
Regarding the factor at play which has caused a blackout, neither OpenAI nor any other independent watchdog firm has succeeded in catching the rootcause as of now.

Citing figures from DownDetector, an outage tracker serivce, the publication reported that the reports of the short-lasted outage began surfacing at 2:00 PM ET on June 17, 2024.
Following the dramatic surge in interruption reports, OpenAI, the developer behind ChatGPT, also acknowledged that there was wrong with their AI service at 2:39 PM ET.
Moreover, OpenAi's status page, after getting updated, stated that the "elevated error rates" were being looked into by the company.
