Virgin Atlantic, a UK airline, has publicly stated it will restart its flights to Pakistan during the coming October, marking an important re-entry into the aviation market for both countries.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has granted formal authorisation for Virgin Atlantic for its operations, permitting to connect its services to the UK via flights routed through Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Moreover, the amended route introduces direct flight services from London to Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, thereby increasing travel options to and from the UK and Pakistan.
Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said: "As we continue to ramp up our flying programme in 2023, we’ve taken the opportunity to review our entire network and decided to make a few changes.”
Additionally, Virgin Atlantic had suspended services to/from Pakistan in 2023 due to commercial pressures. Their return is forecasted to support business travellers, UK-Pakistan visitors and tourists, as well as help grow air travel between the two countries.
The move will provide passengers with greater travel convenience and strengthen air connectivity between Pakistan and the UK.
