OpenAI now appears determined to stand out in the wide array of smart artificial intelligence (AI) voice assistants, as the company has released an update for ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode.
The tech giant claims that the new update brings real-time, smoother-than-before conversations in ChatGPT, ultimately making the AI chatbot more personable and interruption-free.
The new changes to ChatGPT's voice mode were officially announced by Manuka Stratta, an OpenAI post-training researcher, in a video shared on Monday on OpenAI's official social media handles, according to Tech Crunch.
The voice mode in ChatGPT oftentimes proved much of a hassle as it interrupted whenever users paused or took a deep breath to think. This is a frequently occurring problem that the latest ChatGPT update is meant to address.
ChatGPT's paid users, including those with subscriptions to OpenAI’s Plus, Teams, Edu, Business, and Pro tiers, will also encounter less interference alongside an improved personality for the voice assistant.
What sets the paid version apart is that it's now “more direct, engaging, concise, specific, and creative in its answers.”
It's worth noting that ChatGPT's free version now also grants users access to a new version of Advanced Voice Mode allowing users to pause, without facing any intervention, when conversing with the AI assistant.
