Abu Dhabi has launched regular commercial services for autonomous vehicles, becoming the first city in the Middle East to operate driverless cars.

The driverless cars, operated by two Chinese companies, represent a major turning point in the city's transportation industry.

Another significant accomplishment is Abu Dhabi's successful completion of the first flight of a helicopter built in the country.

Delivery is the purpose of the helicopter, which has a 700-kilometre range and can carry up to 250 kg.

Utilising its cutting-edge hybrid engine, which enables it to fly using both fuel and electricity, the Abu Dhabi government declared that the aircraft will be utilised for delivery services.

Notably, the entire helicopter was produced in Abu Dhabi, demonstrating the city's expanding aerospace industry capabilities.

It is anticipated that this development will strengthen Abu Dhabi's economy and establish the city as a Middle Eastern centre for innovation and technology.

The introduction of autonomous vehicles is a big step in building an intelligent and sustainable transportation system in Abu Dhabi, and the city's aerospace potential is demonstrated by the locally produced helicopter.
