Shortly after the company pulled the curtain off its plans to launch an electric vehicle (EV) in Pakistan, Airlink Communication CEO Muzzaffar Hayat Piracha confirmed that the company has imported two units of the Xiaomi SU7 electric cars.

Despite having laid the foundations of the company's venture into the EV space in collaboration with Xiaomi, he said that market dynamics and strategic alignment will determine whether the company will establish an assembly plant or not.

“While we have indeed imported two Xiaomi SU7 electric cars as part of our continued interest in cutting-edge technology, any decisions regarding the setup of an assembly plant will depend on market dynamics and strategic alignment,” Business Recorder cited Piracha as saying.

The progressive step toward the execution of Airlink's EV project comes over the heels of the Xiaomi SU7 Max getting spotted at Karachi port.

Airlink Communication, the Xiaomi mobile manufacturer in Pakistan, is said to have committed to an accord with the Chinese tech giant to launch electric cars in the country.

The Airlink CEO added that Pakistan’s automotive landscape has already embraced the footprint of other leading EV makers such as China's BYD.
