
Stepping onto the bandwagon, e-commerce giant Amazon has also decided to cut jobs as it announced its decision to fire almost 5% of its workforce at its Buy with Prime unit.
The Buy with Prime unit, which was launched in 2022, is responsible for giving retailers, who are not Amazon merchants, fulfillment and delivery services its logistics network.
Amazon clarified that despite layoffs the Buy with Prime unit remains a “top priority” and would “continue investing significant resources”.

While the e-commerce giant didn’t specify the exact number of people employed in this unit or the number of employees being fired, a source told Reuters that jobs of around 30 employees are at stake.
Amazon further claimed that it would support the laid-off employees to find jobs within or outside the company.
Last week, Amazon laid off several hundred employees in its streaming and studio operations. According to media reports, many jobs were also cut in its Twitch live-streaming platform and Audible audiobook unit.
