Apple is reportedly gearing up to celebrate its iPhone's 20th anniversary in 2027, with a major design and powerful camera advancements.

According to multiple rumours, the purported iPhone 20 is already shaping up to be one of Apple's most ambitious devices yet. The iPhone 20 — particularly the Pro model — will feature a Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) camera sensor.

The sensor is reportedly designed to capture more light per pixel, giving improved dynamic range and richer image quality.

Apple is expected to change iPhone 20's design, as it is planning for sloping display bezels that blend smoothly with the screen, creating the illusion of a single piece of glass when viewed from the front.

Meanwhile, Apple is also reportedly gearing up to launch the iPhone 18 series with major advancements, like featuring a variable aperture for its main camera. This feature is expected to be exclusive to the Pro or the Pro Max model.

Moreover, a wider fixed aperture for the device's 48MP periscope lens hints at another major upgrade in Apple's camera evolution.

It should be noted that Huawei has already featured the LOFIC camera sensor in its 'Pura 80 Ultra'. Other top Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, and vivo are also anticipated to feature the same camera technology, as this aims to provide sharper details and improved performance, particularly in low light.
