In a significant development, the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) on September 2 announced the launch of a solar panel manufacturing plant in Hub, leveraging the province's vast solar potential to drive economic growth.

A meeting, chaired by BBoIT Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar, reviewed the proposal in detail. The project aims to start local production of solar panel sheets in the province.

Officials also discussed how to use Low BTU gas in Sui and Kalat for future energy projects. With this programme, the Balochistan government aims to promote renewable energy.

The initial report of the solar panel plant project will be submitted soon to the provincial government for approval.

Kakar stated that the government is fully committed to supporting clean and sustainable energy projects through investment-friendly policies.

In addition, he said that the Lasbela Industrial Estates Development Authority (LIEDA) already hosts more than 250 active industrial units, offering a strong base for new ventures.

It is worth noting that these opportunities can be further expanded under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

By adopting solar energy, Balochistan can reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and mitigate the impact of climate change.

Moreover, the solar panel manufacturing plant is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, creating new job opportunities and stimulating economic activity.
