Globally popular AI giant OpenAI has made its ChatGPT Go subscription free in India, starting from November 4, 2025, for one full year.
The free ChatGPT Go plan in India allows users in the country to access an affordable ChatGPT plan at no cost for a full year, as the company seeks to offer users an opportunity to utilise the enhanced version of its AI chatbot, without any financial burden.
The details regarding the plan's functionality, eligibility, and specific features were initially sparse. However, with the offer now live on the ChatGPT website, users can easily sign up for the free ChatGPT Go plan.
Here’s how to activate ChatGPT Go plan for free in India
- Open the ChatGPT website in a web browser.
 - Click on the Upgrade for Free tab at the top of the screen.
 - Select the Go Special Offer and click on Upgrade to Go.
 - An OTP will be sent to your registered phone number or email for verification.
 - A payment page will appear where you can enter your card details or UPI ID.
 - The transaction will be charged at Re 0, activating the Go plan for 12 months.
 
The ChatGPT maker specified that this promotional offer is valid for 12 months, after which the ChatGPT Go plan will be available at INR 399 per month, with the flexibility to cancel at any time.
The most outstanding aspect of the free ChatGPT Go deal is that it includes several features, such as access to GPT-5, support for increased message limits and file uploads, and enhanced image generation capabilities, but it must be noted that some features, like access to legacy models (such as ChatGPT 4o) and the Sora AI video generation tool, are not included.
In addition to the free ChatGPT Go, Indian users also have access to other AI deals, including the Perplexity Pro AI offer with Airtel services and the Gemini AI Pro offer from Google in collaboration with Jio on select plans.
