SearchGPT's Voice Mode launching next week only for plus subscribers

ChatGPT, the popular aritificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, is expected to get a major upgrade. After announcing its SearchGPT feature, OpenAI is now set to launch Voice Mode, it's the most awaited feature that would allow users to interact with the AI using voice commands.

What is Voice Mode?

Voice Mode would allow ChatGPT users to communicate with the chatbot using voice commands. This means that you'll be able to ask questions and give commands, even converse with ChatGPT using only your voice.

The feature was first demoed a couple of months ago, and ever since then, users were eagerly waiting for it's launch.

According to the OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, tweeted in reply to an OpenAI user stated that, Voice Mode is going to launch as soon as next week for only ChatGPT Plus subscribers. However, not all Plus subscribers will get immediate rollout of the feature.

As mentioned earlier, Initially, this feature would be rolled out to a small group of users gather the feedback but later will be expanded to a wider audience. 

How to get access

To get access to Voice Mode, you'll need to be a ChatGPT Plus subscriber. Still, there's no guarantee of your selection for the initial rollout.

It hasn't given particulars on how one can enroll to get access, so it is likely to choose users from the Plus subscriptions. However, the company has promised that all Plus users would have Voice Mode access this fall.

Moreover, an OpenAI spokesperson had planned to release a Voice Mode in June but unfortunately, it held off because it required a few significant upgrades. 

But now, according to Altman, they are close enough to hit that bar to let some of its highest-paying users have access.
