Microsoft is gearing up to enhance its Surface lineup by incorporating cutting-edge AI capabilities, with the upcoming Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 poised to feature a next-gen neural processing unit (NPU).

Sources revealed that both devices will offer Intel and Arm-based options, signalling a significant technological leap.

Moreover, the arm-based devices, codenamed CADMUS, are set to be fuelled by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X chips.

These PCs are designed not only to run Microsoft's forthcoming AI features embedded in a future Windows release but also promise improvements in performance, battery life, and security, rivalling Apple's silicon, according to insights from Windows Central.

Meanwhile, the Intel versions will boast the company's cutting-edge 14th-gen chips.

Enhanced display and innovative features for Surface Pro 10

Beyond internal upgrades, the Surface Pro 10 is anticipated to feature a brighter display supporting HDR, complemented by an anti-glare coating.

Reports suggest the device may adopt rounded corners, reminiscent of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio lineup. Additionally, a new Type Cover with a Windows Copilot button could be in the offing, as reported by Windows Central.

Surface Laptop 6 offers larger display

For the Surface Laptop 6, Windows Central indicates that the smaller model will sport a slightly larger 13.8-inch display, while the 15-inch model will maintain its current size.

The device is expected to boast a rounded display with thinner bezels, and reports suggest multiple new ports, including two for USB-C, one for USB-A, and one for Surface Connect charging.

A haptic touchpad and a dedicated keyboard button for Windows Copilot are also rumoured features.

Anticipated release

Microsoft is projected to launch the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 in the upcoming year. However, Windows Central hints at more substantial design changes for the Surface Pro in 2025, along with the introduction of a refreshed Surface Laptop Studio.
